CHRISTIANS RESPOND TO TRUMP ATTACK ON OUR FAITH IN NEW AD

A group of prominent Christians, both Republicans and Democrats have formed 'Not Our Faith PAC'. The group will roll out six-figure TV and digital ads focused on Protestant and Catholic voters in swing states. Its first ad will run in Michigan and Pennsylvania.

BIDEN CALLS ON TURKISH GOVERNMENT NOT TO CHANGE STATUS OF HAGIA SOPHIA

Vice President Biden has issued a statement against the actions of the Turkish Government to turn Hagia Sophia into a mosque.  The cultural treasure was build as a Christian cathedral.  After the fall of Constantinople, it was made a mosque and then at the end of the Ottoman Empire, it became a museum, open to all.  It retains great significance for many Christians, particularly Greek Orthodox.  Both Pope Francis and the Ecumenical Patriarch, Bartholomew have made similar statements as Vice President Biden. 

On June 17th, the Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate wrote to Trump, begging him to personally put the weight of the US Government behind keeping it as a museum.  To date, Trump has made no statement on the matter. 

Books Says Trump Didn't Care About Catholic Repression in China

John Bolton has claimed in a new book that Donald Trump was resistant to sanctioning China for its religious repression, saying that China’s crackdown on the Catholic Church “didn’t register” with Trump.

Trump at moments have been verbally hostile to China but for the most part has been weak and accommodating to the Chinese Communist government.  He has praised Chinese dictator Xi and currently is pushing a give-a-way trade deal he negotiated with China.  Trump and his daughter have long had business interests in the brutal dictatorship.

Religious repression by the government of China has been an issue the unites conservative and liberal Catholics and other people of good will.  The State Department has well documented actions against the Catholic Church.
